In the centre of Žďárek stands the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius, built in 1872. The chapel in Žďárek is a late Neoclassical building with Neo-Gothic elements dating from the end of the 19th century. History

The name Žďárek is derived from the old expression “žďářit”, which refers to burning or clearing land for a grain field. The first written records of Žďárek date from 1600. A historic road to Upper Lusatia ran through Žďárek. The road through Žďárek was used by the Russian army during the campaign against Napoleon and by the Prussian army in 1866. From 1939 to 1945, the border of the Protectorate ran through Žďárek.
