Stepanovice: Hotels and Accommodation

The “Štěpánovický kopec” walk leads from the cemetery via Krausova Avenue to the Štěpánovice Cross and on to Blatec. Štěpánovice is also located on the return route of the “Skalička” walk. The 21.5 km-long “Na Trosky přes Doubravici” cycling route, which is moderately difficult, passes through the village.

Nature and Rocks

The protected Borecké skály sandstone rock area also extends across the cadastral area of Štěpánovice u Rovenska pod Troskami. It comprises sandstone walls, gorge-like ravines, rock windows, and other erosion-shaped formations. The Bora pine forest lies on sandstone rocks between Štěpánovice, Borek, and Ktová. Several individual rock formations continue northwards towards the vicinity of Štěpánovice, including the Štěpánka rock tower.

Trails and Viewpoints

The Čechova vyhlídka viewpoint is located at the edge of the rock escarpment near the 360 m elevation point at Bor and offers a view towards Trosky. Borecké skály can be reached via a walkable tourist trail that begins or continues more than 250 metres from the road.

Culture

The stone Štěpánovice Cross stands on the road from Štěpánovice to Rovensko pod Troskami, at the crossroads by Katova tůně. The inhabitants of Štěpánovice had it erected in 1876. Josef Zeman from Tatobity made the base of the cross.
