Loučky: Hotels and Accommodations

Loučky is located in the Bohemian Paradise Geopark. The Podloučky Nature Monument also includes the cadastral area of Loučky.

Nature and Trails

The Podloučky Nature Monument protects xerothermic grassland communities as well as preserved species-rich beech forests home to specially protected species. The specially protected plants found there include red helleborine, white helleborine, spring cinquefoil, Turk's cap lily, and cross gentian.

A wild pear tree grows along the path to Fialník; it was declared a memorial tree in 2023. On the southern edge of Loučky there is a fossil site considered the most significant site of Middle Turonian fossils in Bohemia. The green cycle route No. 4099 from Malá Skála to Chutnovka and the blue hiking trail from Malá Skála to Rotštejn run through Loučky.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Anthony of Padua has been protected as a cultural monument since January 19, 2009. The noble Des Fours family built it between 1787 and 1790; the church is an example of a simple rural Baroque church. A valuable 19th-century crucifix stands in the cemetery near the church entrance.

The former school building in Loučky now serves as the “Výstavní zastavení” exhibition point and the municipal office. The small museum displays about 3 m² of the exhibition, the Loučecký nativity scene, and a fragment of the original church bell from 1862. Visitors can also learn about the history of Loučky and the life of the teacher and prominent native son František Hořák.

A memorial plaque on the façade of the Sokolovna in Loučky commemorates František Hořák. The present-day school building in Loučky was constructed between 1882 and 1883 and has essentially retained its form to this day. TJ Sokol Loučky was founded on November 19, 1903; its statutes were approved on February 26, 1904.
