Culture and history

The Stations of the Cross at St. Henry's Church date from 1843. Construction of the church was completed in 1837, and it was consecrated on July 15, 1838.

Hard-coal mining in Petřvald began in 1833 and ended in 1998. The Technical Museum Petřvald houses the permanent mining history exhibition “Tradice hornictví” about the history, development, and significance of mining in the Ostrava-Karviná district, with a focus on Petřvald. The Technical Museum Petřvald also presents the exhibition “Kouzelný svět tramvají” (“The Magical World of Trams”).

Educational trail and leisure

The Petřvald educational trail is located in the town center. It is approximately 100 meters long and includes five stations with information panels; it also features a barefoot walking area.

The Domek Leisure Center provides residents of Petřvald and the surrounding area with spaces for active leisure activities. It organizes workshops, sports and art competitions, creative workshops, summer holiday camps, exhibitions, musical performances, and discussion sessions.
