Dolní Marklovice combines nature and culture: The Dolní Marklovice Nature Monument protects the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina).

Culture

The foundation stone for the St. Wenceslas Monument in Dolní Marklovice was laid on September 28, 1929; it was unveiled on October 28, 1930. The monument was created by the academic sculptor Julius Pelikán from Olomouc.

The local cultural monuments also include a cast-iron cross. It depicts a corpus of Christ and a relief of Our Lady of Sorrows and stands on a stone pedestal. The cross is one of the cultural monuments listed in Petrovice u Karviné.

The wooden Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Dolní Marklovice was built in 1739. An older church stood on the site of the church as early as the 14th century. During restoration work at the end of the 20th century, wall paintings with floral motifs were uncovered.

Marklovice was divided in 1920: The part known as Dolní Marklovice belongs to the Czech Republic, while Horní Marklovice is located in Poland.
