Heřmánky: Hotels and Accommodation

Heřmánky is home to the late Baroque Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, with folk-style furnishings dating from 1783. The cemetery surrounding it is still in use and has a well-maintained gate and cemetery wall; the remaining German gravestones were moved to a lapidarium in the rear part of the cemetery. The first written mention of Heřmánky dates from 1362.

Culture and History

The former Fojtství in Heřmánky is a cultural monument with a medieval vaulted cellar. The former Fojtství complex dates from the last third of the 18th century and is a high-quality example of how Classical architectural elements found their way into folk architecture. It has preserved a high degree of authenticity and is one of the few surviving buildings of this type, function and age in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Archaeological finds at Švédská skála prove the existence of a hillfort.

Nature and Landscape

The Jubileum Spring is a natural attraction in Heřmánky. Tomčíkův tis is a notable tree in Heřmánky; in the garden of the former Fojtství, it has a trunk circumference of 240 cm. Švédská skála has a viewing pavilion overlooking Heřmánky and the Oder Valley.

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Heřmánky railway station towards the Oder Valley and onwards to Panna Maria ve Skále; before Klokočov railway station, markings for the Na Čermence Nature Monument are visible, an important breeding area in an old beech stand.

Trails and Circular Routes

Cycle Route No. 503 passes through Heřmánky. In Heřmánky, it is possible to take a walk around Švédská skála. In the vicinity of Heřmánky, a hiking trail leads from a slate quarry to the pilgrimage site of Panna Maria ve Skále in nearby Klokočůvek. The Heřmánkový Circuit leads to the legendary Čertův kámen and begins and ends at the Heřmánky ČD railway station.

Transport

Heřmánky is connected to railway route No. 276 between Budišov nad Budišovkou and Suchdol nad Odrou. Transport route 903238 connects Heřmánky with Odry, Jakubčovice nad Odrou and Vítkov.
