Spálov: Hotels and Accommodation
The predecessor of Spálov Castle was a fortress. A viewing terrace was built at the castle between 1883 and 1885.
History and Culture
Among the objects in Spálov listed in the state register of immovable cultural monuments is the Church of St. James the Greater. In its present form, it dates from 1734 and contains a pewter baptismal font bearing the year 1619.
The Baler Windmill near Spálov was built by František Baler in 1929. It is the smallest Dutch-type windmill in the Czech Republic.
Nature
Spálov Castle Park consists of three areas: an area with a pond, a formal French park section, and an informal English landscape park section. The described areas cover a total of approximately 1.2 hectares. The formal French garden in this castle park was established under Emanuel Kajetán Záviš of Osenice (1743–1769).
Spálov has its own Královec nature reserve. The green-marked hiking route from Heřmánky railway stop to Spálov is approximately 4 km long and involves an ascent of 200 metres.
Faith and Local Life
Panna Maria ve Skále is a pilgrimage site in the Oder Valley. The traditional Spálovské hody festival features music, entertainment, and good food.
