Šenov u Nového Jičína: Hotels and Accommodation

Šenov u Nového Jičína combines historic landmarks with cycling and walking routes through the landscape. The Church of St. Martin is the oldest monument in Šenov u Nového Jičína and dates from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.

Culture

The Church of St. Martin is occasionally accessible on Thursdays and Sundays during services. Šenov u Nového Jičína also has a monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. It was created by Franz Barwig, an honorary citizen of Šenov u Nového Jičína. The chapel in Šenov u Nového Jičína was reconstructed in 1989 and ceremonially dedicated to the Virgin Mary in May 1991. The Šenovský škrpál community festival takes place every year in August.

Cycling

The 96-kilometre Okruh Kravařsko cycling circuit passes through Šenov u Nového Jičína. The moderately difficult 14-kilometre cycle route No. 6175, “Palackého stezka,” also runs through the town, from Hostašovice via Šenov u Nového Jičína to Kunín.

Nature

The Poodří Protected Landscape Area and the eponymous important bird area extend into the northwestern tip of the Šenov u Nového Jičína area. The Bannerova studánka spring rises near the Salaš Hotel in Šenov u Nového Jičína. The “Po stopách generála Laudona” educational trail leads in Šenov u Nového Jičína to Bannerova studánka; the trail, or part of it, can be covered using the regular bus service between Nový Jičín and Kunín. A forest near Bannerova studánka offers views of the surrounding landscape.
