Pustějov: Hotels and accommodations

Pustějov combines the present-day Church of St. Mary Magdalene with the natural landscape of the Bartošovický luh Nature Reserve. The church dates from 1890. The nature reserve also includes the cadastral area of Pustějov and the naturally meandering course of the Oder, as well as wetlands, floodplain meadows, and wetland forests. Another geographical feature is the 18th eastern meridian, which runs through the Pustějov area for approximately 3 kilometers. The village lies on the main road between Nový Jičín (15 km) and Bílovec (8 km).

Culture and village life

Several original gravestones and crosses are also recorded in the Pustějov municipal cemetery; two of them are registered with the heritage protection authority under numbers 2055 and 2056. The consecration of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, scheduled for 1891, was postponed to August 16 due to bad weather.

Every July, on the feast day of Saint Magdalene, Pustějov hosts a traditional Krmáš, a celebration of the church feast featuring a pilgrimage and carnival. The now-traditional village day includes an Olympics for mixed pairs in unusual disciplines and ends with an evening carnival.

Nature and activities

Sport fishing is possible at Lake Kaménka in Pustějov. For cyclists, the 29-kilometer-long cycle route No. 6011 follows unpaved paths along the Oder. The described section of cycle route 6011 is impassable in wet conditions.
