The fortified noble residence located in Bravantice, Zámek Bravantice, is first mentioned around 1570.

History and heritage conservation

Zámek Bravantice was probably converted into a single-storey Baroque chateau in the second half of the 17th century. Since 2023, artistic plein-air events have been held there.

Church and tradition

In the center of Bravantice stands the church Kostel sv. Valentina, which was added to the list of cultural monuments before 1988. It is one of the oldest churches in the surrounding area. Inside are two historic bells cast in 1632 and 1691.

The Valentinská pouť has been celebrated in Bravantice annually on February 14 for more than 200 years.

Transport

Several bus routes connect Bravantice with Nový Jičín, Ostrava, Studénka, Bílovec, and Jistebník; they are integrated into the Integrated Transport System of the Moravian-Silesian Region, ODIS. The nearest railway station is in Studénka on international railway corridor No. 270. There are further railway stations in Bílovec on a regional line and in Jistebník.

Landscape and water

The long-distance cycling route Kravařsko runs along the western shore of the ponds near Bravantice. The pond system near Bravantice is used for fish farming and angling.

Vinná hora, Přílet, and Hlásnice are mountains in the wider regional surroundings of Bravantice. The hill Podklan [Ostrava - Zbyslavice] lies in the vicinity of Bravantice.
