Rybí: Hotels and Accommodation

Rybí lies almost entirely within the Podbeskydí Nature Park, which was designated in 1994 to protect the character of the landscape as well as significant clusters of aesthetic and natural values. The cadastral area of Rybí is part of the Podbeskydí Geopark. The Libotín area also includes the cadastral area of Rybí and is a valuable woodland with ornithological significance.

Nature

In Rybí, Holivák Hill is one of the elevations offering wide-ranging views and is partly used for ski slopes.

Trails

The Adolf Zábranský Educational Trail is a walking route through the landscape that inspired the painter and illustrator Adolf Zábranský, offering views of the hilly landscape of the Podbeskydí Nature Park. At ten stops, information panels present the life, work and illustrations of the painter and illustrator Adolf Zábranský.

Culture

The Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross in Rybí is an Early Gothic church from the second half of the 13th century that was later rebuilt. Two wayside chapels in Rybí commemorate the former pilgrimage procession from Nový Jičín to the pilgrimage churches in Štramberk. The historic Stations of the Cross was established in the 17th century and led from the outskirts of Nový Jičín through Rybí to Štramberk and Mount Kotouč; seven brick chapels from the original 14 stations have been preserved.

Events

The “Za pohledy z Rybí” hiking event, held annually in spring in Rybí, offers routes of 25 km, 13.5 km and 10 km, including a route suitable for pushchairs. For children, the hiking event includes an enchanted forest and a bouncy castle at the finish.
