Děhylov: Hotels and Accommodations

Děhylov lies on the northern slopes of one of the easternmost foothills of the Nízký Jeseník. Žabinec is one of the two large ponds in Děhylov and has been mentioned since the 17th century.

Landscape and Nature

The Děhylovský potok–Štěpán locality lies on the boundary between the municipality of Děhylov and the city of Ostrava, on the right bank of the Opava. It consists of a pond basin in the broad, flat floodplain of the Opava, the Děhylovský potok stream, and adjacent wetlands. Fire-bellied toads, weatherfish, and yellow-winged dragonflies occur in this locality. The Jilešovice-Děhylov area also includes Poštovní rybník.

Culture

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Děhylov is a protected cultural monument where religious services are still held today. The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Děhylov was built in 1726.

By the Water

A cycle path runs along the Loděnice, following the right bank of the Opava. The Loděnice in Děhylov is a restaurant with outdoor seating in a picturesque location on the Opava; paddlers moor at the natural harbor by the Loděnice on the Opava. For more than 30 years, free music of various styles has been played for all visitors at the Loděnice every Sunday.

Things to Do

The Háj–Děhylov hiking route follows green-marked trails through Dobroslavice to Děhylov railway station. A 2.5 km-long educational trail leads through the forest and between fields back to Děhylov and has nine stops. The educational trail provides information about Dobroslavice and Děhylov, the history of the park, as well as fauna, flora, and rocks.

Děhylov railway station lies on the Opava–Ostrava railway line. A trip to Děhylov took bus route 75 from Ostrava, Poruba, VŠB-TUO to the Děhylov, železniční stanice stop.
