Stěbořice: Hotels and Accommodation

In Stěbořice, the single-nave sacred complex “Kostel Narození P. Marie” stands in the centre of the village, together with a two-storey Baroque rectory. Well-preserved remains of a Romanesque presbytery dating from the first half of the 13th century were uncovered beneath the floor of the Kostel Narození Panny Marie church. The church is one of the few surviving Romanesque monuments in the Moravskoslezský kraj region.

Culture and History

Há​j, slovanský mohylník in Stěbořice is designated as an important archaeological site. Forty-three burial mounds were examined at the Háj Slavic burial mound field; the burial mounds are still visible in the landscape today.

Nature and Trails

The Nový Dvůr Arboretum features themed plant areas: North American forests and prairies, Siberia, a Japanese garden and plants from the Himalayas. The exhibition “Quido. Příběh arboreta v Novém Dvoře” presents Quido Riedel, the development of the arboretum and the history of the château. Exhibitions are regularly held at the Nový Dvůr Arboretum.

The Beránkova stezka is approximately 2 km long and can be navigated with a pram, preferably an all-terrain model; however, some sections may be more difficult to walk or navigate depending on the weather. Interactive information panels provide entertaining information about the local fauna and flora, waste decomposition and how an anthill works.

Views and Fortifications

Rozhledna Šibenice offers views of the surrounding area as well as information about the construction of the Šibenice fortress and the local fortifications. By car, you can get to within approximately 150 m of Rozhledna Šibenice; parking is available on a paved area. A pioneer shelter dating from the 1970s can also be viewed there.

Further Stops

On the Planetární cesta, there is a station featuring the planet Neptune in front of the cultural centre in Stěbořice. An exhibition on the grounds of Zámek Stěbořice was open year-round by prior arrangement.
