Markvartovice: Hotels and accommodations

Despite its proximity to the regional capital Ostrava, Markvartovice retains its peaceful village character. The village is located in Hlučínsko between the Opava River and the present-day state border with Poland, in the area between Opava and Ostrava. There are bus stops in the centre of Markvartovice.

Markvartovice is surrounded by fields and forests and features plenty of greenery as well as a network of paths and cycle paths.

Culture and history

The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity is a Baroque chapel dating from around the middle of the 17th century and is protected as a cultural monument. It was restored after a fire in 1945.

Markvartovice was first mentioned in writing in 1377. Odpust is one of the traditional events held throughout the year.

Routes and activities

Cycle route C runs from Štípky through the built-up part of Markvartovice to Černý les. Local cycle route A runs north above Petřkovice, Ludgeřovice and Markvartovice.

The Areál opevnění Darkovičky educational trail begins in Markvartovice at the MO-S 16 Rozcestí infantry bunker. The Pumprtack Marvartovice pump track was expanded from a small circuit into a larger pump track area.
