Mikolajice: Hotels and Accommodation

A specific way to get to know Mikolajice is through its history and local events. The Vodění medvěda procession passed through Mikolajice in both 2022 and 2026; in 2026, the event took place on February 14.

Culture and History

Mikolajice are first mentioned in a land register of the Bishop of Olomouc under the Latin form “Niclouicz.” In 1389, the register names Ota Stoš of Bránice as the owner of two parts of Mikolajice, which at the time were a fief of the Bishop of Olomouc in the Osoblaha district. From 1408, Mikolajice belonged to the Štáblovice fief estate, which was then administered by Jan z Liptáně.

The Chapel of Saint Florian in Mikolajice has a cross dating from 1892; the chapel itself is an architectural landmark of Mikolajice. The Chapel of Saint Anne stands in Mikolajice on Road III/44339. A chapel for fallen soldiers is located on the same road at the northern edge of the built-up area of Mikolajice and is listed as a monument of local significance.

A cross dating from 1886 stands on Road II/443 at the eastern boundary of Mikolajice. At the eastern edge of the built-up area of Mikolajice, there is also a wayside shrine on this road.

An inventory of the fief estate from the 1660s records a total of 10 ponds, a completed stone sheepfold, and a hop garden for Štáblovice and Mikolajice.

Local Life

Mikolajice hosted an invitation to the traditional 27th Selská Hubertova jízda. Both horseback riders and participants with horse-drawn carriages are welcome at this event. Spectators can be given rides on horseback.

The local gastronomy includes the U našich pub. It offers refreshments and 37 seats. Radegast 10°, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages are available there.

Cycling Tour and Landscape

The “Zabytki techniki” cycling tour is 55 km long and is considered an easy route. It passes through Dolní Životice, Mikolajice, and Štáblovice.
