Beňov lies on the left bank of the Moštěnka River in the hilly landscape of the foothills of the Podbeskydská pahorkatina. The Stojan lime tree in Beňov is a memorial tree and was voted Tree of the Year 2007.
Culture and History
The longer sections of the Přerovská padesátka event pass through Beňov, where the small A.-C.-Stojan Museum is located. It was established in 1993 to mark the 70th anniversary of the death of Antonín Cyril Stojan. The museum houses personal items preserved from Stojan’s lifetime, the archbishop’s school reports, hymnals, models of his busts and monument, pictures, books, vestments, and other liturgical objects related to him.
The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi is also associated with two precise dates: the foundation stone was laid on 19 June 1854, and the church was consecrated on 4 October 1857.
Activities and Events
The Beňov Equestrian Club offers training for young riders, agrotourism, and exercise therapy for people with physical disabilities. The club also organizes traditional Hubertus rides every year in Beňov, Kyselovice, Břest, and Staré Vsi.

The wider regional area around Beňov includes Lešná Chateau, the Lukov Ruins, and the mountains Kelčský Javorník, Holý vrch, and Zadní vrch. At the traditional “Zabíjačkové hody” event on 17 January 2026 at the Sokolovna in Beňov, locals, visitors from elsewhere, and tourists were able to sample traditional butchery specialties.
