Uhřičice: Hotels and Accommodation

The historic surroundings of Uhřičice were designated a heritage zone effective 31 December 2019. At the same time, the written history of the village dates back to 1131.

Culture and Townscape

The village square is home to a group of statues of Saint Florian, a valuable Baroque work by Olomouc sculptor Antonín Heinz dating from 1742. On the road to Kojetín, there is also a Baroque wayside shrine depicting Saint Florian and the Baptism of Jesus.

The historic centre features a broad linear settlement pattern known as an “ulicovka”.

Landscape and Waterworks

The landscape around Uhřičice includes the Morava and Valová rivers, the Boleloucký mill race, the Strž, a wooded side channel of the Bečva, a flooded former sand quarry, the Čvachůvka grove with a spring, and intensively farmed agricultural land.

The Uhřičický Siphon is a technical structure where the Boleloucký mill race passes beneath the Valová River. From Uhřičice, it can be reached directly via a yellow-marked hiking trail; by bicycle, cycle route 5040 leads there, connecting Tovačov and Kojetín. The excursion route “Po břehu Moravy ke Kojetínu a dál…” also includes a stop at the Uhřičický Siphon.

The Vantroky aqueduct is another water crossing on the Boleloucký mill race in the cadastral area of the municipality of Uhřičice, located approximately 800 metres south of the Uhřičický Siphon. The aqueduct’s current concrete channel dates from 1923.

Railway and Events

The Kojetín–Tovačov railway line is currently used exclusively by freight trains. Uhřičice participates in the Hanácké léto na kolejích project. As part of this project, historic trains operate on the Tovačov railway line to promote tourism and provide transport support for cultural and social events in the towns along the route.
