Within the built-up area of Blatec, the medieval and modern-era village center is registered as an archaeological site of category UAN II.

Culture

The original village of Blatec was laid out around a rectangular village square, with two exits leading east and west. The historic layout can still be seen in aerial photographs today.

The Chapel of St. Margaret is a single-nave, plastered solid masonry building with a hipped roof covered with plain clay tiles. A prismatic tower with a pyramidal roof rises through its western façade. The chapel was first mentioned in 1804 and is probably older.

Immediately behind Blatec, the statue of St. Linhart stands on the left side of the road towards Újezdec. Blatecký mlýn is located on the other side of the Morava River, on the Morávka millrace, and was built in 1773.

Nature

Blatec lies between the Morava River to the east and the Blata River to the west; the Romza stream also flows through the village. Along the Morava, the Morava–Chropyňský luh Natura 2000 site is located within the Blatec landscape area.

Getting around

Blatec lies on cycle route 6061 and route 4, the Moravská stezka; both routes run along cycle lanes or local farm tracks. Four bus connections between Olomouc and Tovačov run through Blatec in both directions.

At one edition of the “Králstvím na kole” cycling event, more than 100 cyclists took part. At another edition, the start in Blatec was at the football pitch.

Wine

The second Blatecké vinobraní took place on 14 September 2024 in the community hall and offered twelve wines from the cellars of Čevelovice. Another traditional Blatecké vinobraní was announced for the following year. In 2025, Blatecké vinobraní reached its third edition; more than ten selected varieties of wine were served and presented with explanations of the individual wines and their stories.
