The area around Senice na Hané is characterized by the attractive Hana Plain. The first hills of the Drahany Highlands begin west of Senice na Hané. The Eliška z Kunštátu educational trail begins in Senice na Hané.

Church and Local History

The Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Senice na Hané is a cultural monument with an original Gothic layout and a tower from the 15th century. At the same time, it is a valuable Baroque building from 1704–1705 with an older Renaissance tower. The tower of the parish church is not aligned with the axis of the church building; this is visible in the entrance area.

The oldest written mention of the church in Senice na Hané is found in the necrology of the Olomouc chapter under the year 1333. The painting of Saint Mary Magdalene for the high altar was created in 1794 by the Olomouc painter Josef Pilz. The Ecce Homo statue in Senice na Hané dates from 1827; the statue of Saint Giles is a Baroque sandstone sculpture from the 1730s by Ondřej Zahner.

On the road to Hliník, a former brickyard, there is a medieval reconciliation cross in Senice na Hané. The parish church feast of St. Mary Magdalene takes place on a Sunday close to July 22.

Sports and Transport

The multifunctional sports hall has playing areas for handball, floorball, tennis, and volleyball – including one central court and three cross courts separated by nets – as well as areas for basketball, three badminton courts, nohejbal, and small-sided football (futsal). The municipality of Senice na Hané offers the hall for public rental.

Senice na Hané railway station provides passenger services for domestic transport, including seat reservations.
