Daskabát lies on the outermost foothills of the Oderské vrchy.

Nature and Townscape

Forests cover one-fifth of Daskabát’s cadastral area. The earthworks of Zámčisko Fortress are also partly covered by coniferous forest and shrubs.

Culture and History

Zámčisko Fortress is listed in the State Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments. Archaeological traces and remains of the fortress are located at the edge of Boří Forest in the Zámčisko cadastral area. Its earthworks consist of a fortified settlement of the motte type, with a central mound measuring approximately 10 × 14 metres, a shallow ditch, a rampart and an outer ditch.

At the U Slaného archaeological site, an elongated oval plateau and part of the rampart of a medieval fortress, whose date has not yet been determined more precisely, have survived in the terrain. U Slaného Fortress is listed in the State Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments in Daskabát. Archaeological traces and remains of the fortress survive at U Slaného Fortress in the U Slaného cadastral area northwest of Daskabát.

The vanished village of Otěhřiby, which preceded present-day Daskabát, is first mentioned in 1232. Otěhřiby Fortress is first mentioned in 1447; remains of this fortress survive in Daskabát. The village of Sedlec is first mentioned in 1359. Historically valuable remains of Sedlec Fortress are located at Zámčisko in Daskabát.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk on Daskabát’s village square dates from 1909 and is designated a monument of local significance.

Sport and Cycling Route

Daskabát’s sports complex is located in the town centre and borders the newly built Přáslavice–Velký Újezd cycle path. The sports complex offers tennis. Cycle route No. 6265 runs from Velká Bystřice via Přáslavice and Daskabát to Tršice.

Local Competition

At the Král Daskabátské slivovice 2026 competition, a public tasting of all submitted samples takes place after the judging.
