Dolany: Hotels and Accommodation

Kartouzka preserves the remains of a medieval Carthusian monastery dating from 1388–1425 and an associated Hussite fortification. The site contains visible remains of the stone church walls, cloisters, and individual cells.

Culture and history

A Stations of the Cross was created at Kartouzka in Dolany in spring 2021. Children from the Miroslav Stibor Elementary School of Arts in Dolany contributed to the ceramic reliefs under the guidance of Helena Lisá; fathers built the crosses together with children from the local parish.

Dolany Chateau and its surrounding park are a significant early Baroque complex dating from 1667. The parish Church of St Matthew is a single-nave late Baroque building dating from 1776–1785. The Dolany parish house is a valuable part of the parish church complex and dates from 1829–1835. An altan, an Oriental-style structure dating from 1844, stands in the Dolany parish garden.

On the village square in Dolany stands a column with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, an iconographically rare work dating from 1709. The surroundings of Dolany also include Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné, a church, Kostel sv.Michala, also a church, and Čechovy sady, a park. Vildštejn is a ruin in the wider region around Dolany.
