The Hluchovský dvůr estate had a brewery in 1583; in the past, it also had a distillery. The first sugar refinery in Moravia was also established at the Hluchovský dvůr estate.
History
Hluchov Chateau originated as a Renaissance fortress that was converted into a chateau. The Hluchov fortress was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century. Today, Hluchov Chateau houses the municipal office.
Culture
Hluchov is home to a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, dated 1805–1808. In front of the chapel stands a stone cross from 1863. Hluchov’s historic monuments also include a Baroque stone cross from 1761.
The “Pomník padlým” war memorial in Hluchov commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars.
Surroundings
The “Místo setkávání – vyhlídka” rest area located above Hluchov offers a beautiful view of the village. The bell tower at the viewpoint is made from beams of the former school, which now serves as the Mateřská škola Hluchov daycare center, and is dated 1871.
The Bělecký Mlýn estate in the valley of the Romže River is located near Hluchov and offers agritourism, relaxation, and other leisure activities.
