Nature

The Šerák–Keprník National Nature Reserve extends into the area of Horní Lipová, including the northern slopes of Šerák and Mračná hora, as well as the summit of Obří skály. Obří skály form an almost one-kilometre-long rock wall that is 10 to 16 metres high.

Sněženky Horní Lipová is a 0.2271-hectare floodplain area in Horní Lipová that has been temporarily protected since 2007. Thousands of specimens of the endangered snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) have been recorded there.

In the immediate vicinity of Horní Lipová are Smrk Mountain [Lipová-lázně], Šerák Mountain and Smrek Mountain. Travná hora Mountain is located in the vicinity of Horní Lipová.

Culture

The Muzeum Slezského Semmeringu is located in the former signal box building of Horní Lipová railway station. It presents railway signalling technology, signalling equipment, historical regulations and contemporary photographs.

The Pramen císaře Josefa II. in Horní Lipová commemorates Emperor Joseph II's visit on 1 September 1779; the spring dates from 1822.

In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Lipová are the Edelštejn ruins, Trzebieszowice Castle, Nový Hrad ruins and Otmuchów Castle - Zamek.

The Naučná stezka Johanna Schrotha educational trail has ten stations.

The Faunapark in Lipová is a private zoological garden open to visitors of all ages and interest groups, with free-flying parrots as well as, among others, a tiger, lemurs, meerkats, macaques, iguanas, chameleons, kangaroos and ostriches.
