Jeseník District: Hotels and Accommodation

Jeseník District currently offers four tours at Jánský Vrch. Anyone who wants to book a hotel for their stay and is interested in culture and history will find a specific cultural point of interest here.

Culture

The first tour includes the state rooms and a historical pipe exhibition, described as one of the largest in the Czech Republic. Visitors can also enter the flanking tower. In Jeseník, the Vodní tvrz water fortress has four permanent exhibitions.

Priessnitz hydrotherapy has been listed as intangible cultural heritage of the Czech Republic since 2014. Visitors can try this hydrotherapy free of charge in the spa's Balneopark. Jánský Vrch is the only publicly accessible monument in Jeseník District and, together with its landscaped park, forms a landmark.

The Spirála času Země exhibition presents the geomorphological development of the Jeseník region in connection with the formation and development of the Earth. It is available in Czech, English, German and Polish.

The Zlatorudné mlýny at the Zlatokopecký skanzen are replicas of water-powered medieval mining mills.

Nature

Several dozen springs are located in the Studniční vrch area, dating from the heyday of the spas in the 19th century. Rejvíz protects a complex of peatland ecosystems, the associated species and the physical environment. No historical peat extraction has been documented in the Rejvíz peatland area.

The rare peatland ecosystem at Velké mechové jezírko formed 6,000 to 7,000 years ago. A nature trail leads to Velké mechové jezírko.

The Nýznerovské vodopády waterfalls were declared a natural monument in 1965 and form a geomorphologically significant gorge in crystalline schists on the Stříbrný potok. Obří skály is a 10- to 16-metre-high rock formation made of staurolite schists.

Getting Around

Jeseník railway station is integrated into the public transport system.

The Art Nouveau Tančírna in Račí údolí serves as a restaurant. It offers facilities for tourists and cyclists, a service area for skis and bicycles, and an information centre.

The Schroth–Priessnitz educational trail connects the spa facilities of Jeseník with the Na Pomezí saddle and has eight stations. The Čarodějnická cycle route runs through the Czech-Polish borderland; the Czech section is 136 kilometres long. The Smrk cross-country skiing circuit reaches Smrk, the highest peak of the Rychleby Mountains at 1,127 metres.

Traditional recipes from the Jeseníky Mountains are based mainly on potatoes, cabbage and cream. Jesenická čokoládovna in Jeseník is a small chocolate manufactory that makes chocolate by hand.
