Hruška: Hotels and accommodations

Hruška was first mentioned in 1078 in the founding charter of Hradisko Monastery. The village preserves a historic settlement structure associated with a medieval foundation.

Culture and settlement landscape

The Church of St. John of Nepomuk is located in Hruška’s central village green and is designated there as a cultural monument of local significance. The historic village structure includes an elongated village green, bounded at its outer edge by an oval formed by paths running behind the farmsteads.

On the village green near the church stands a war memorial commemorating those who fell in the First World War and the victims of Nazi persecution.

Things to do

Marked cycle route No. 5013 runs through Hruška. It continues from Tvorovice to Němčice nad Hanou, is of moderate difficulty, and is signposted as a road route along paved roads of the second and third classes.

The paths running behind the farmsteads enclose the original medieval settlement and can be walked around the entire village. Traditional Válkové mud-brick buildings are particularly common in Hruška compared with the surrounding region. Remnants of Válkové masonry can be seen on several surviving barns and on one house in Hruška; these remnants can be encountered while walking along the paths behind the farmsteads.

Transport

Hruška can be reached on foot or by bus from Němčice nad Hanou railway station. The station is located on the Brno–Přerov railway line.

At the ponds below Hruška, you can sit pleasantly during the summer months.
