In Slatinice, Lázně Slatinice is located at the foot of Velký Kosíř. It has a tradition dating back several centuries and is considered the oldest spa in Moravia. The natural mineralized healing springs of Lázně Slatinice contain sulfide sulfur and are used for baths, packs, and drinking treatments.

Nature and Trails

Numerous trails for pedestrians and cyclists lead through Slatinice and its surroundings, primarily to Velký Kosíř Nature Park. The summit of Velký Kosíř is less than 5 km from Slatinice via a yellow-marked hiking trail; a recently built wooden lookout tower stands at its summit.

Transport

Slatinice can be reached by bus from Olomouc, Prostějov, and Litovel. Slatinice can also be reached by train from Olomouc and Prostějov, with a transfer in Drahanovice.

Culture and History

The Muzeum veteránů Slatinice displays a collection of old automobiles and motorcycles, mostly from the 1930s, as well as numerous contemporary artifacts, in an area of 400 m². Around the church in Slatinice stand 14 chapels of the Stations of the Cross, dating from the construction period of the present-day church and rectory, from 1769 to 1775. The traditional Slatinice hody festival takes place every year in mid-August.
