Lešany: Hotels and Accommodation
In character, Lešany combine the Haná villages of the area beneath Velký Kosíř with the settlements of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands.
Landscape and Nature
Lešany lies among orchards and gently sloping fields above the Romže River. The only woodland near Lešany is located in the valley of the Lešanský Stream west of the village. In the Na hůrkách area, there are acidic, thermophilous grasslands forming a mosaic with scattered trees and copses; protected and endangered plant and animal species occur there.
Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier in Lešany was built in 1722 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 29 December 1994. The centrally located bell tower in Lešany was built in 1831. On 24 April 1834, a clock made by Spurný was installed on the bell tower.
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Lešany was built in the Historicist style with Neo-Gothic elements and completed in 1884. An avenue leads to it from the road. The war memorial in Lešany was erected in 1921 and supplemented after 1945 with a plaque bearing the names of those who fell and were murdered in the Second World War.
Things to Do
The 24-kilometre cycle route 5039 runs from Lešany via Zdětín to Ptení and then continues towards Horní Štěpánov. The park by the church is also one of Lešany's attractions.
