Hrochov: Hotels and Accommodation

Hrochov lies on a plateau north of Lipová in the direction of Konice, on the road from Horní Štěpánov to Ptení. From the meadows above Hrochov, there are sweeping views across the Morava floodplain and towards the Nízký Jeseník and the Moravian Gate.

Many protected plants bloom in the meadows of Hrochov during the spring months.

History and Culture

Hrochov was founded in the second half of the 17th century. The first buildings were an inn, a barn, and a cottage or shepherd’s hut. Later, thirteen settlers took up residence in Hrochov, cleared the surrounding forests, and built additional houses.

The listed Chapel of St. Lawrence in Hrochov was built around 1843.

Since 2010, the SDH Hrochov Firefighters’ Association has organized the district competition “Hrochovská stodňa” for youth teams.

Routes

The “Hrochov Church Road” leads to the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Jednov and is lined with images of saints. Cycling Route 5039 also passes through Hrochov.
