Obědkovice: Chapel, Monuments and Landscape

Several memorial sites are located in the village and along its roads. A stone cross from 1810 served as a place of farewell for deceased residents. The monument to the victims of the Second World War stands in the park on the square in Obědkovice. In the northwestern part of the cadastral area, a cross stands beside Road II/367 and is listed as a monument of local significance. The three sites differ in their location and historical connection: the stone cross commemorates deceased residents, the monument in the park commemorates the victims of the Second World War, and the cross beside the road is listed as a local monument.

The cadastral area of Obědkovice has no forests. Předina and Chlum, both mountains, are located in the surrounding area. Also in the surrounding area are Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého and Pomník obětem 1. světové války, each a monument. In the nearby area lies (Zadní Díly) [Uhřičice], a hill. In the wider regional surroundings are Horka, a mountain, as well as Hrádek and Kuchlov, each a ruin. The landscape destinations thus include different landforms and types of monuments, while the ruins in the wider regional surroundings have their own spatial connection.

These spatial distinctions are relevant when planning a visit: destinations in the surrounding area, nearby area, and wider regional surroundings do not form a single local circuit. For planning a day, mountains, hills, monuments, and ruins can therefore be noted as separate types of destinations without conflating their location-based relationships.

A Class II road connecting Prostějov, Kojetín, Kroměříž, and Tlumačov runs through the northern part of Obědkovice. The completed project “Cyklostezka Klenovice na Hané Obědkovice, část Obědkovice hřbitov” is also listed. The project involved the construction, modernization, reconstruction, or structural modifications of a connection for pedestrians or cyclists. Thus, the northern area contains both a road connecting four locations and a completed project for a pedestrian or cycling connection. Before traveling on a cycling or pedestrian connection, it is advisable to check current route conditions and traffic information.
