Mala Morava: Hotels and Accommodation
Malá Morava lies at the transition between Moravia and Bohemia, between the Hrubý Les, Králický Sněžník and Hanušovická vrchovina mountain ranges. In winter, the municipality has numerous cross-country skiing trails. From Malá Morava, a climb also leads north along a mountain ridge to Králický Sněžník; it takes about four hours.
Culture and History
The present-day parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Malá Morava was built in 1689. A stone tombstone from 1629 is set into its wall. In Podlesí, the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene was built in 1683 on the site of an earlier wooden Protestant house of prayer. The Baroque church is one of the protected monuments in Malá Morava.
The protected monuments in Podlesí also include a late Baroque plague column with a statue of the Virgin Mary from 1736. The Baroque Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Vojtíškov dates from 1807. A glassworks is mentioned in Sklené as early as 1437.
In Vysoká, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity is registered as an immovable cultural monument. It houses a museum about Franz Schubert and his family. In 1782, Carl Schubert initiated the construction of the chapel and made a financial contribution to it.
Orientation
Near the turnoff to Vojtíškov is the 333rd kilometre of the Morava. There is a rest area there for passers-by and visitors to the municipality.
