Paseka: Hotels and Accommodation

At the end of Paseka are the Pasecké Waterfalls, where the Upper Morava Valley transitions into the deeply cut Pasecký Gully. The Teplička stream flows over several rock steps here; the waterfall has a total height of around five metres. An observation pavilion stands directly above the rapids.

Nature and Landscape

The Makču Pikču Arboretum lies between the municipality of Paseka and the medieval Sovinec Castle. The arboretum features rock gardens, ponds with ornamental fish, an artificial canyon, and numerous plants from around the world.

Below the Paseka sanatorium lies an extensive landscaped park with notable tree species; a chapel is also located there. The landscaped park and the chapel are open to the public at all times and accessible to everyone, serving as places for walks and relaxation.

Leisure and Hiking

During the summer season, the Paseka natural swimming biotope and its snack bar are open. The Paseka skate park is a reinforced-concrete facility covering approximately 600 m², with ramps, stairs, a shallow bowl, as well as boxes and rails.

An official 17 km hiking trail leads from Šternberk via Řídeč and Paseka to Karlov and Sovinec Castle.

Chapels and Church

The Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Paseka is a modern block building for religious purposes, constructed between 1914 and 1917.

You can visit the Paseka Forest Chapel independently; a key can be borrowed from the eighth department. Since the previous year, Mass has regularly been celebrated at the Paseka Forest Chapel on 14 September, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

The oldest part of the present-day parish Church of St Kunhuta is the core of its prismatic tower, which dates from the Late Gothic period.
