Svésedlice: Hotels and Accommodation
Svésedlice combines a historically valuable centre around the village green with a characteristic settlement structure of the Haná region and the form of a circular village. The centre is regarded as a spatially and functionally stabilised part of the built-up area.
History and Culture
Written sources first mention Svésedlice in 1370. From 1389 until the abolition of serfdom in 1848, the village belonged to the Olomouc Chapter. The history of individual personalities is also part of the village’s character: in 1931, Ludmila Zatloukalová-Coufalová became the first woman in Moravia to head a municipality.
The Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Thomas was built in 1902 on the site of an earlier wooden bell tower. The central public space of Svésedlice, with this chapel, the Cross of Saint Thomas and Saint Francis, and high-quality park landscaping, is to be protected. In front of the former school stands an atonement cross dating from 1547, regarded as the oldest monument in Svésedlice.
Water and Landscape
The Beroňka watercourse runs through the built-up area of Svésedlice, while the Týnečka stream flows through the southern part of the municipal territory. A reservoir lies on the Beroňka north of the built-up area; south of the village, below the settlement, there is a pond on the Týnečka.
Village Life and Events
For sporting activities, Svésedlice has a football pitch and a nohejbal court. Tourists can refresh themselves at a local restaurant in Svésedlice.
The municipal cultural programme lists the event “Zelený čtvrtek – makrely” several times. In addition, a first memorial event dedicated to hiking and cycling was held in Svésedlice. It was named “Memoriál Ludmily Zatloukalové – Coufalové” and was intended to take place annually in the future.
