Olbramice: Hotels and Accommodations

Olbramice combines a preserved historic townscape with several cultural points of interest. This is particularly evident in the Chapel of Saint Vitus, the village green, and the small monuments located along the roads.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Vitus in Olbramice was completed in 1937. In 2002, it was extensively reconstructed and extended with a sacristy. A mass is currently celebrated in the chapel once a month.

The history of the village dates back at least to 1368. At that time, the village “Olbramicz” was first mentioned in a Latin entry in the land registers of the Olomouc jurisdiction.

Townscape

Olbramice has a preserved historic linear settlement structure, with a linearly arranged village green and buildings arranged linearly along the road. The traditional rural settlement consists of farmsteads, detached and row houses, as well as gardens and orchards.

Monuments in the Village

At the eastern end of Olbramice, on the road to Náměšť na Hané, stands a column with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, registered as an immovable cultural monument. The freestanding column is a folk stone work from the mid-19th century and features a relief of Saint Florian.

A cross stands on the village green in front of the bell tower and is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The bell tower there is listed as a monument of local significance. Other points of interest in the surrounding area are the wayside shrine at the edge of the forest in the direction of Náměšť na Hané, the wooden cross on the road to Bohuslavice, and the stone cross in the cemetery; all three are listed as monuments of local significance.

In the vicinity of Olbramice, outside the municipality’s territory, the Terezské údolí Nature Park lies to the east of the municipality, while Regional Biocentre No. 267 Terezské údolí lies to the southeast.
