Vlkoš: Hotels and Accommodations
The Vlkošský mlýn is a significant technical monument dating from 1726, built in the Baroque style. From 1928 to 1966, a bakery operated in the mill.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Procopius is a single-nave Baroque building completed in 1736. It stands on oak piles; its foundations are reinforced with rubble stone up to 1 m above the surrounding ground.
West of the Church of Saint Procopius are the remains of the Vlkošská tvrz in the gardens of agricultural farmsteads. At the edge of Vlkoš, the Vávrův mlýn stands on a millrace diverted from the Moštěnka. A complete lower works with a cogwheel transmission has been preserved in the mill.
The present-day Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Kanovsko was built in 1863 by citizens of Kanovsko. It has a memorial plaque commemorating the inhabitants of Kanovsko who fell in the First World War. The niche chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows stands near the Vlkošský mlýn at the beginning of Na Loukách Street.
Cycle Path and Footpath
The Vlkoš–Věžky cycle path was completed in 2004 and diverts cycle traffic away from the heavily trafficked Road II/436. The Mlýnský Canal runs through the center of Vlkoš; it is accompanied by a footpath equipped with a railing.
Nature
The Vlkoš – statek area is a habitat of the barbastelle bat (Myotis emarginatus), a bat species of European significance.
