Troubky: Hotels and Accommodation

The confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers is considered a natural attraction in Troubky. In the village and its immediate surroundings, historical landmarks, river landscapes, cycling paths and vibrant folklore come together.

Culture and History

The statue of St. Amand stands in the local cemetery in Troubky. This listed cultural monument is a High Baroque work from the mid-18th century, attributed to B. Fritsch. The statue commemorates the averting of a plague epidemic and was moved to the local cemetery at the beginning of the 20th century.

The statue of St. Florian stands in the park in front of the school and is also a listed cultural monument. This high-quality Baroque work dates from around 1750 and was moved from Dřevohostice to Troubky in 1970 after restoration.

The village’s memorial sites also preserve specific memories. The monument to six American airmen in the local cemetery in Troubky is a listed cultural monument and commemorates an aerial battle over the municipal territory on 17 December 1944. The monument to the fallen of the First World War stands next to the church in Troubky. It dates from 1922 and bears the names and photographs of 57 fallen residents. Another monument in the park by the cultural centre commemorates the victims of the 1997 floods.

The church “Kostel sv. panny a mučednice Markéty” in Troubky existed by 1672 at the latest; at that time, it was a small church with one altar and two bells. Construction of the new building began in 1870, and it was solemnly consecrated on 7 July 1872.

Nature and Landscape

The Troubky weir, with a small hydropower plant, offers interesting landscape views. In the surroundings of Troubky, the Zástudánčí National Nature Reserve is one of the natural attractions. Its isolation and difficult accessibility make Zástudánčí one of the most important quiet zones for disturbance-sensitive bird species. The national nature reserve is also home to a small population of Kessler’s gudgeon.

Cycling Paths and Activities

The Bečva Cycle Path crosses the cadastral area of Troubky. The southern part of the cadastral area is crossed by the Moravian Trail. A local cycling route through the floodplain forests of Troubky leads towards Chropyně or Lobodice.

The regional, undemanding section of the Bečva Cycle Path along the Bečva is intended for cyclists and pedestrians; with a suitable surface, it can also be used with inline skates.

Folklore and Events

The Hanák folklore ensemble preserves the folk traditions of Hanna through Hanakian songs and dances and performs at regional and international folklore festivals. The “Předvánoční posezení u cimbálu” is one of the two cultural events held annually by Hanák in Troubky. The “Folklorní hodové slavnosti” are the second cultural event held annually by Hanák in Troubky. Hanák also organises a Masopustní průvod in Troubky every year.

The Jezdecké dny take place at the beginning of June or in mid-August and attract equestrian enthusiasts from the surrounding area and farther afield.

There is a restaurant in the cultural centre of Troubky. The sports hall in Troubky is used year-round by local residents and visitors.
