Drevikov: Hotels and Accommodations

In Dřevíkov, Židovská Street has been preserved; there, the Jewish community built a synagogue, baths, and its own school. Jewish residents rebuilt the center of Dřevíkov with interconnected, multistory brick buildings. This urban development contrasts with the picturesque timber-framed house, the only one to survive from before the great fire.

Culture and History

The former Židovská ulička contains a former Jewish school, a timber-framed cottage at house no. 47, and a small potash works.

The Jewish cemetery of Dřevíkov was probably established in the mid-18th century. It is registered as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and contains approximately 300 Baroque and Neoclassical tombstones (macevot).

The bell tower of Dřevíkov is located at the village bus stop. The present-day copy of Dřevíkov’s historic rural bell tower has stood in the village square since 1976.

The timber-framed houses of Veselý Kopec show the living and working conditions of small farmers from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century; the exhibition also includes unique technical monuments powered by water.

For Veselý Kopec, the Vysočina municipality operates a car and bus parking lot located 250 meters from the open-air museum.

Trails and Regional Landscape

The Kavánova Trail is recommended as a one-way route and is not a loop. It can be extended via Dřevíkov to Svobodné Hamry or Trhová Kamenice.

The Krajem Chrudimky Local History Trail begins at the Filipovský Spring of the Chrudimka River, ends in Chrudim, is 82 km long in total, and has 31 information boards.

The wider region surrounding Dřevíkov includes Žákova hora, Devět Skal, Bučina, and Světka mountains.
