The center of Jenišovice is dominated by the Church of the Holy Trinity, which is included in the state list of cultural monuments.
Culture and History
The single-nave Early Gothic church dates from around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a recessed polygonal chancel and a prismatic tower on the façade. In the center of Jenišovice, it stands above the road on a small rise. A protected historic crucifix stands in front of the Church of the Holy Trinity. In front of the entrance to the cemetery at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Jenišovice, there is also a stone Empire-style cross; it was erected in 1808 at the expense of Jakub Dostál.
Musical instruments were once manufactured and repaired in Jenišovice. The Jenišovice volunteer fire brigade actively takes part in various fire brigade anniversaries and attends them with an old Škoda 125, which is described as the only vehicle of its kind in Bohemia.
Landscape and Trails
The Novohradka River, also known as the Olšinka, flows through Jenišovice; the Řepnický Stream flows into it there. In the cadastral area of the municipality of Štěnec, located 2 km from Jenišovice, you will find the Kusá hora natural monument and Štěnecký Pond.
Cycle Route 4194 runs via Martinice, Jenišovice, and Štěnec from Slatiňany to Řepníky.
Local Details
There are parking areas in the center of Jenišovice. At Jedlá zahrada, the children's playground serves as a place to rest. The site is designed as a small botanical orchard; once completed, it is to include more than 35 unusual fruit tree species with numerous varieties.
