Kočí: Hotels and Accommodation

In Kočí, the Firefighting Museum displays historical and contemporary firefighting artifacts such as helmets, axes, hoses, and uniforms. The Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle was built in 1397 at the expense of Queen Sophie and was added to the list of national cultural monuments in 2010.

Culture and History

Wall paintings were discovered in the nave of the Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle in Kočí in 1899. Two bells hang in the church’s wooden bell tower: the older one dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and the younger one dedicated to Saint Lawrence. The pilgrimage mass at the Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle in Kočí is celebrated on the Sunday around 24 August.

Visiting and Orientation

The Kočí Firefighting Museum has more than 524 m² of covered exhibition space and can be visited at any time by prior telephone appointment. The “Kočí,,kostel” bus stop belongs to fare zone 702. Parking is available at the Church of Saint Bartholomew in Kočí or at the municipal office.

Bridges and Routes

The covered bridge in Kočí is 18 metres long and spans the wetland between the church and the road. The wooden bridge connecting the church in Kočí with the village is one of the oldest surviving covered wooden bridges in the Czech Republic.

The 21-kilometre cycling route “Za loutkami do Chrudimi” passes through Kočí. The 51-kilometre cycling route “Na Chlumek a Košumberk” includes Kočí as one of its stops. The cycling trip “Cyklovýlet Kočí, Slatiňany, Chrudim” leads from Kočí via a minor road to Slatiňany and then follows a blue-marked hiking trail along the Chrudimka River from Slatiňany to Chrudim.
