Kladno is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. The settlement developed as a typical elongated valley settlement, with smallholder homesteads on both sides of the Dolský stream.

History and Culture

The first documented mention of Kladno dates from 1392; at that time, Kladno belonged to the Rychmburk estate.

The chapel in the centre of Kladno formerly also served as a fire station. Kladno maintains a memorial to those who fell in the First World War. Annual events in Kladno include a fair in November.
