History and Church
Honbice has been mentioned in written records since 1244. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Honbice is a branch church and has been listed among the cultural monuments of the Czech Republic since 1958. It was remodeled in the Neo-Gothic style in 1881 by the architect F. Schmoranz.
Monuments in Honbice and Libanice
The statue of Jan Žižka was designed by František Bílek in 1912 and also serves as a memorial to the local residents who fell in World War II. Libanice has been mentioned in written records since 1472. The war memorial in Libanice was unveiled in July 1930. During the ceremonial unveiling, soil from the battlefields of Zborov, Terron and Doss Alto was also laid there.
Water and Cycling Route
Honbice is drained by the Ježděnka stream. The Ježděnec pond lies on the northwestern edge of Honbice; the Ježděnka stream flows out of it. Marked cycling route 4120 runs through Libanice.
