Tisovec: Hotels and accommodations

The 13-kilometre-long educational trail Traces of the Ležáky Tragedy runs through Tisovec. It also passes through Dřeveš, Vrbětice and Kvasín, following the traces of the resistance and the tragic events in Ležáky during the Second World War.

Culture and history

The iron cross in Tisovec was restored and reconsecrated on 19 July 1903. Vrbětice is home to an unusual belfry, a steel structure approximately eight metres high.

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Kvasín was built in 1894. In 1991, it was renovated at the expense of the local residents; its tower was newly constructed and clad in copper sheet metal.

The Tisovec area is part of the Železné hory Geopark. The nearby surroundings of Tisovec include Zárubka Hill [Miřetice-Havlovice] and (V Lazech) Hill [Včelákov-Babákov]. In the wider regional area around Tisovec are Jarošov Mountain and Devět Skal Mountain.

Horákův lom, a named quarry, is located in Otáňka. Kvasín is home to a protected memorial lime tree, a small-leaved lime with a trunk circumference of 650 centimetres. There are also four mature lime trees next to the chapel in Kvasín.
