Ostřetín: Hotels and Accommodation

Na Hradcích reaches 335 m above sea level and is the highest point in the Pardubice District; the hill lies in the cadastral area of Ostřetín.

Landscape and Springs

The hill “Vinice” is 329 m high, making it the second-highest point in the cadastral area of Ostřetín. In clear weather, Vinice offers views over a large part of Eastern Bohemia.

Below the marl slope of Javůrka lies a well fed by a plentiful spring. Baths were established at this spring and renovated and expanded around 1900. Following this renovation and expansion, they became a popular excursion destination for residents of Holice and Ostřetín.

Church and Local History

The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Ostřetín is mentioned as early as 1350 under the name Hostětín. The present church was built in 1781 after the former wooden church burned down in 1758. On 30 December 1987, it was entered in the state register of cultural monuments.

Memorial Sites

A two-day battle between Austrian and Prussian troops took place on Chmelnice Hill on 12 and 13 July 1758. The “Monument to the Victims of the Seven Years’ War” stands in Ostřetín between Ostřetín and Horní Roveň. An educational trail with five information panels about the battle runs around Ostřetín.

International youth music camps are held annually in V Kluči. The Rekreační zařízení Radost leisure centre in V Kluči operates year-round.
