Uhersko: Hotels and Accommodations
The tradition of “Vodění Jidáše” is still maintained in Uhersko. On Holy Saturday, participants dress up as Judas, go from house to house, sing an Easter song, and receive sweets, eggs, or money in return. The tradition is included in the list of intangible elements of the traditional and folk culture of the Czech Republic.
Culture
The sgraffiti on the Uhersko municipal office depict scenes from the lives of Jan Hus, Jan Žižka, and Jan Amos Komenský. The presbytery of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Uhersko bears the year 1704. The tower of this church can be accessed from the outside via a wooden, self-supporting spiral staircase on the south side.
Nature
The Bažantnice nature reserve is located in fields between Uhersko and Trusnov in the cadastral area of Uhersko. It comprises a mixed oak-hornbeam forest and a hardwood floodplain forest. Their natural composition provides suitable conditions for rare plant species and nesting opportunities for birds. Bažantnice in Uhersko is home to the red flat beetle (Cucujus cinnaberinus).
Surroundings
At the former site of the “Neulust” pleasure palace, there is a recreational area with a view of Uhersko, a fire pit, and seating. In the immediate vicinity of Uhersko are Borek Hill [Trusnov-Opočno nad Loučnou], Jandák Hill [Moravany-Čeradice nad Loučnou], and Na Kopci Hill [Dolní Roveň]. In the wider regional surroundings of Uhersko are the Church of Saint George and Strýc Mountain.
