Slepotice: Hotels and Accommodations

Slepotice is located near the Loučná River. The village also includes the recreational area at the Slepotice fire reservoir, which is open during the summer season. Its operation depends on weather conditions as well as water and air temperature.

Culture and History

In the center of Slepotice, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross stands on elevated ground. The present church was built in 1818 as a single-nave structure with a five-sided presbytery and a tower topped by an onion dome. A monument to the fallen stands next to the church.

The Slepotice fortress was included in the division of the paternal estate documented on April 15, 1510. Faint remains of the large Slepotice castle complex are preserved in an orchard behind House No. 1. The castle complex features an inner platform that is now only faintly recognizable and is surrounded by a moat that has been partially filled in; the moat is most clearly visible on the eastern side.

Slepotice is home to a large cross depicting the crucified Christ, the Virgin Mary, and Saint John. It was acquired from the former Minorite monastery in Pardubice. The Church of Saint George is located in the wider region surrounding Slepotice.

Emil Morávek was born in 1914, served as a Czech fighter pilot in the French Air Force, and died at Heuilley-le-Grand on June 15, 1940.
