Česká Třebová: Hotels and accommodations
Česká Třebová reveals its different sides through sports, technological history, and sacred culture. At Peklák, cycling and winter sports take center stage; museums, churches, chapels, and a lookout point complete the picture with specific places and activities.
Activities
The Peklák bike resort in Česká Třebová has 25 km of routes and 19 km of trails across six difficulty levels. The Peklák ski area has an 800 m-long red ski slope and an 80 m-long blue ski slope for ski lessons. It also offers night skiing and a ski school with a conveyor belt.
The Městské muzeum Česká Třebová offers a short Velorex ride of approximately 4 km lasting 10 to 15 minutes through the city center and surrounding area. The long Velorex ride can last up to one hour and is limited to a maximum of 40 km.
In summer, the area around Kozlovský kopec offers a range of routes for cyclists and tourists. The viewing platform of Rozhledna Kozlovský kopec can be reached via 133 steps.
Culture and history
The permanent railway exhibition at the Městské muzeum Česká Třebová presents the history of rail travel since the mid-19th century, focusing on the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The Velorex exhibition at the Městské muzeum Česká Třebová describes the creation and development of the OS-KAR vehicle, later called Velorex. It also includes a true-to-scale model that children can sit in.
The Chaloupka Maxe Švabinského (house number 50) is located on the edge of the village of Kozlov below the summit of Kozlovský kopec. Visitors can view an interior there in which time seems to have stood still for more than a century.
The Rotunda svaté Kateřiny is the only surviving Romanesque rotunda in the Pardubický kraj region. During the Jabkancová pouť held at the Rotunda svaté Kateřiny in November, visitors can try českotřebovské “jabkance,” potato pancakes filled with quark.
The Kaple Panny Marie Pomocné is an immovable cultural monument in the Classicist style. Legends of miraculous healings of pilgrims who used the water from the so-called Pavlova studánka and prayed for the Virgin Mary’s help are associated with it.
The Kostel sv. Jakuba Většího regularly hosts concerts featuring organ music. During the season, the Kostel sv. Jakuba Většího is open to the general public and tourists.
