Kameničná: Hotels and Accommodation

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Kameničná was completed in 1863 and consecrated on 29 September 1867. The stone Marian column is dated 1681 and stands in a well-maintained park behind the school. The cemetery in Kameničná was consecrated on 23 June 1878.

Kameničná formerly belonged to the Lords of Litice. In 1809, the village belonged to the Žamberk estate, whose seat was Žamberk.

At the site called “Na hradě” in Suchá, remains of the moat of a 13th-century castle have been preserved. The so-called Královská cesta runs through the Suchá forest. The Plague Column stands at a place where residents who died in a plague epidemic are buried. A local legend says that the tears of an enchanted princess spring from the source below the castle, which is still called “U princezny” today.

Kameničná borders the Orlické hory Protected Landscape Area; the boundary of the protected area runs through the neighbouring Pěčín. During the summer months, Kameničná offers opportunities for hiking and cycling through the varied landscape of the Orlické Mountains.

A marked hiking trail runs through the eastern part of the Kameničná municipality from Žamberk via Polsko, Houkov and Velká Suchá to Rokytnice.

Road No. 310 leads from Helvíkovice to Kameničná and divides behind the village into routes towards Říčky v Orlických horách and Bartošovice v Orlických horách via Pěčín and Rokytnice, and towards Rychnov nad Kněžnou via Slatina nad Zdobnicí and Javornice.

The “KAMÍNCI” choir regularly performs a Christmas carol programme in the local chapel in Kameničná, as well as various songs at Kameničná’s June procession.

SPZ z.s. organises the traditional Kameňák motorcycle gathering on the sports ground behind Veverkovými. The 8th Kameňák motorcycle gathering took place in Kameničná near Žamberk.

Lenka Skalická from Kameničná near Žamberk offers blossom honey, creamed honey, forest honey, foundation-sheet candles, poured candles and propolis.
