Písečná: Hotels and Accommodation

The Potočnice stream flows through the entire village. The Šuškovský Pond covers 5 hectares and lies in a wooded valley. On the way to the pond there is a rest area with a drinking-water spring and an Indian totem.

The Kozinec Ridge offers views of Žampach and the panorama of the Orlické Mountains. Near Šušek, the rock formation of Permian origin known as “Babizna” is located in a wooded valley. Písečná is also notable for its extensive stands of mature, preserved vegetation. Several significant trees in Písečná have been included in the state list of protected trees. Several tourist routes pass through Písečná.

One hiking route leads from Dolní Dobrouč railway station via Písečná to Žamberk railway station.

The present-day rectory in Písečná was built by the Jesuits in 1726. The Baroque statue by the church dates from 1717.

The group of buildings comprising Mill No. 35, together with its technical equipment in Písečná, was designated a cultural monument on 26 October 2004. Mill No. 35 contains a Francis turbine from 1926, as well as two milling units with shelling machines, cleaning machines and a coarse-grinding unit. Visits to Mill No. 35 must be arranged in advance with its owner, Hana Maárová.

The 1,185-metre-long shared cycling and walking path Valdštejn–Šušek connects Písečná and Hnátnice. The Valdštejn–Šušek cycle path connects Písečná with the Letohrad–Ústí nad Orlicí cycle path and ends at the dam of Šušek Pond.

Koupaliště Písečná has a capacity of 300 people during the 2026 season.
