Lanškroun: Hotels and Accommodations
Lanškroun Castle houses the Městské muzeum Lanškroun. The castle stands on the site of a former Gothic Augustinian monastery and today serves as a cultural and social center as well as a city museum. The originally Gothic St Wenceslas Church, dating from the 14th century, is part of this former Augustinian monastery, which today forms Lanškroun Castle. The church is used for religious services; concerts of sacred music are occasionally held there.
Culture and History
The Renaissance town hall of Lanškroun was built in 1581–1582 and is decorated with two valuable stone portals bearing the coats of arms of the landowners and the town.
St Anne Church was built in 1702–1705, probably based on a design by the Baroque master G. P. Tencalla. It has been listed as a cultural monument since 1964. The heritage protection also covers the enclosing wall of the former cemetery with its gate, as well as the sculptures in the immediate surroundings of the church.
The Krčma inn has been documented since 1568.
Hiking and Nature
Lanškrounská KOPA includes hiking routes with lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, and 100 kilometers. The 5-kilometer hiking route of Lanškrounská KOPA is suitable for parents with children, stroller users, and wheelchair users.
The Lanškrounské rybníky educational trail runs through the Lanškrounské rybníky nature park, which has been included in the Natura 2000 network. The trail is easy and also passes over wooden footbridges and small bridges.
The Lanškroun Information Center provides tourists free materials on the history of the town, leisure tips for the region, information on accommodations and dining in the town and region, excursion tips, and themed walks through the town and its surroundings. It also provides information on tourist, natural, and cultural attractions and monuments, particularly in Lanškroun and the Lanškrounsko region.
