Culture and History
The wooden bell tower in Rviště bears the designation “oldest monument of Orlické Podhůří.” The Lourdes grotto in Rviště contains a statue of the Virgin Mary and dates from 1893. Rviště is first documented in 1399 as part of the Brandýs nad Orlicí estate.
Landscape
Rviště is considered a village between three hills. Řetová, referred to as a mountain, is located in the surroundings of Rviště. The hill known as Roveň is located nearby. In the wider regional area lie Velká Suchá, referred to as a mountain, and Strýc, also referred to as a mountain.
Routes
The 13 km hiking route “Vyhlídky Orlického Podhůří” passes between Zátvor and Dobrá Voda by the wooden bell tower in Rviště. Cycle route no. 4046 also passes through Rviště. The 20 km cycling tour “Za kamennou krásou Orlického Podhůří” runs between the “roubená zvonice” in Rviště and the sales outlet in Rviště. A car can be parked at the shop in Rviště for the excursion.
