Cycling Route and Surroundings
The marked cycling route “Krajem Smetany a Martinů” leads through Vidlatá Seč towards Jarošov and Dolní Újezd.
The historic Trstěnická Trail trade route once ran near Vidlatá Seč from Makov to Chotěnov. The Toulovcovy Maštale nature reserve is also located in the surrounding area, approximately 7 km away.
Culture and History
The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is located in Vidlatá Seč. It dates from the 17th century, while its present form dates from 1771. The chapel is considered a prominent landmark of Vidlatá Seč. Services are held there on Tuesdays in even-numbered calendar weeks: at 5 p.m. in winter and at 6 p.m. in summer.
The memorial to the victims of the First World War is located in Vidlatá Seč. Under the heading “NEVRÁTILI SE” (“THEY DID NOT RETURN”), its inscription names those who fell in 1914–1918.
The memorial plaque to František Famfulík is located on the school building at Vidlatá Seč 56. It commemorates the fact that the gendarmerie sergeant, who came from Vidlatá Seč, was shot as a victim of Nazi violence on 8 July 1943 at the shooting range in Kobylisy. The cenotaph for František Famfulík stands in the cemetery of Vidlatá Seč; its inscription records that he was executed by Germans in Kobylisy on 8 July 1943.
